This is the wood sign I made as a gift to my in-laws who are fostering a little child. The Process: I had some scrap thin plywood that I sued as the main part of the sign. It was thin and flexible so I wanted to strengthen it. I ripped down some scraps I had laying around and created some 1/2" thick boards to line the perimeter with. Once this was done, I was able to give it a quick sanding and then apply the first coat of white as a base. I gave it another coat and then moved on to taping the board up with painters tape. I created the lettering on the computer and printed it out with registration lines so I could line everything up later. I used spray adhesive to stick the template down then used a precision utility knife to cut the letters out. Once cut, I could remove the painters tape and reveal a custom template. I used Black as the color for the lettering. Before the Black paint had completely dried, I pealed off the painters tape, this allowed me to get a cleaner line without tears. I let the paint completely dry and the project was complete. If you enjoyed the video please give it a like and let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
