We customized some LEGO figurines to create our minifigure doppelgangers. The Process: We started by picking what specific LEGO pieces we wanted to use and ordered them using the Bricklink website. To make the faces we decided to take some pictures of our faces so we could map out the features. Although we used Adobe Illustrator to do this, there are several free software packages that can be used. Inkscape is a good one to try. Once we mapped out what graphics to use, we made sure to scale them to the appropriate size and printed them out on clear decal paper. The decal paper needs a protective film over the ink so we applied a semi-gloss coat of clear paint. Once the paint dried we used some setting and solvent solutions made by a model company to aid in removing and installing the decals on the LEGO pieces. If you are interested in the products we used for this, there are links below. We purchased the LEGO pieces from Bricklink, a sort of eBay for LEGO. It is a great place to purchase the exact LEGO pieces you want. If you enjoyed the video please give it a like and let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
