I made a key holder by turning old keys into hooks. The Process: I started by using our old key holder do get an idea of the size I needed. I then used some old pallet wood and broke it to give it a rustic look. I then stained it black to further emphasis the look. Using a propane torch I got the keys hot and bent them over a round piece of steel. I doing this I had to heat and bend incrementally so as not to break the keys. (I broke a few and had to make more) Once they were shaped, I pre-drilled the holes for some small brass screws I had. Finally, I attached the keys making sure to stagger them a bit. I dropped the keys several times and almost burned my self. Don't do this.
