I made a forged steel bookmark using a wire hanger and some metal accent pieces. This would make and excellent gift. The Process: I started by getting a wire hanger. I drew a design to scale using a permanent marker as a template I could follow. I then used a propane torch and some pliers to heat the wire and bend it into shape. Once I got it close, I trimmed the wire down to size. I then reapplied heat and hammered the wire to give it its final look. I used some of the leftover wire to make some jump rings. Using the Jump rings, I finished the bookmark off by attaching some oriental metal accents to the loops of the wire.
