CES 2026 was chaos 🤯 AI everywhere. Robots everywhere. And a lot of smart home tech. In this video, I walk the CES floor brand by brand to answer one question: what actually Mattered? 🧠🏠 Some devices were meaningful upgrades, some felt redundant, and a few genuinely pushed the smart home forward — especially around Matter, Thread, and Apple Home. This video includes sponsored segments, but every product featured earned its spot by doing something interesting, useful, or new. About This Video

I just got back from CES 2026, and it was chaos in the most predictable way: AI everywhere, robots everywhere, and a lot of smart home tech trying to convince you it’s “the future.” So in this video I walk the floor brand by brand and ask the only question I actually care about: what genuinely Mattered? Some of what I saw were real upgrades (especially around Matter, Thread, and Apple Home), and some of it felt like the same product wearing a new badge. I cover SwitchBot’s “smart home 2.0” push (including facial recognition and palm vein unlock on their Lock Vision series, plus an AI hub that can pull in RTSP cameras for natural-language search), Aqara’s U400 UWB lock and new W200 thermostat hub, and Broadlink’s Matter “super bridge” approach for bringing IR/RF devices into Apple Home and other ecosystems. I also highlight a few things I think are actually useful: Eve’s Matter over Thread thermostat as a solid always-powered Thread router, Third Reality’s motion sensor nightlight exposing multiple sensors, and some genuinely interesting Matter controllers like Hunter’s wall panel and the Mui Board Gen 2. My big takeaway: the smart home is moving forward, but the winners are the brands making practical, local, interoperable upgrades—not just adding AI because they can.
