Summer, in personal color terms, isn’t “hot and bright”—it’s more like an early morning haze, soft foggy beach, or watercolor sky. The whole palette leans cool with blue undertones, low saturation, and that quiet, sophisticated harmony. I explain the three Summer subtypes: Light Summer, Clear Summer, and Mute (Soft) Summer. Light Summer is delicate and pastel—think fairy-core florals, low contrast, and cool-toned makeup to balance any natural pinkness. Clear Summer sits closer to Winter, so it can handle more clarity and contrast (still cool), with brighter lip colors like raspberry or cool cherry. Mute/Soft Summer is the most toned down and smoky, so matte textures and muted cool shades (mauves, taupes, mushroom grays) look the most natural.
