Half Face Cool Tone vs Warm Tone Makeup | How Undertones Change Your Look

269 views· 9 likes· 6:09· Aug 15, 2025

Today I’m showing you a side-by-side comparison of cool tone vs warm tone makeup on my cool-toned, Clear Summer skin. I’ll be doing half of my face with shades that match my undertone, and the other half with shades that don’t, so you can see how colors either harmonize or contrast. Products used: Cool Tone Side: Rom&nd Rosebud Garden Palette, Fwee Pudding Pot in Baddie, Fwee 3D Voluming Gloss in 30% Currant Warm Tone Side: Rom&nd Pampas Garden Palette, Fwee Pudding Pot in My, Fwee 3D Voluming Gloss in 30% Vanilla Makeup is personal, if you love a color, wear it! But understanding your undertone can make finding your most flattering shades so much easier. 💬 Comment below: Are you cool-toned or warm-toned? About This Video

In this video, I do a true half-face test to show you how much undertone changes your entire makeup look. I’m a makeup artist and colorist, and I’m very clearly cool-toned—specifically Clear Summer—so I have a pinkish-red undertone, deep cool black hair, and a naturally reddish-pink flush. I apply cool-tone makeup on one side and warm-tone makeup on the other, using the same placement and technique, so you can see the difference is coming from color harmony (or the lack of it), not skill. On the cool side, I use Rom&nd Rosebud Garden (cool pinks), a berry blush (Fwee Pudding Pot in Baddie), and a berry gloss (Fwee 3D Voluming Gloss in 30% Currant). Because these shades mirror what already exists in my undertone, everything blends seamlessly—soft transitions, natural depth, and a cohesive finish. On the warm side, I use Rom&nd Pampas Garden (peach/coral/golden tones), a warm blush (Fwee Pudding Pot in My), and a coral gloss (Fwee 3D Voluming Gloss in 30% Vanilla). On my skin, those warm tones pop more, can feel a bit disconnected, and read like they’re sitting on top rather than melting in. My biggest takeaway: there are no “wrong” shades if you love them, but matching your undertone makes your makeup look effortlessly flattering and blended.
