I'm building a Supertree aquascape inspired by the Supertrees at Gardens By The Bay! 🌿

About This Video

In this live session, I worked on a brand new nano aquascape that I’ve been wanting to scape for the longest time—my “Supertree” build inspired by the Supertrees at Gardens by the Bay in Singapore. I started planting the background first, using Rotala (including Rotala blood red) and sharing that it’s my first time planting this particular stem—so we’ll see how it grows and colors up from green to reddish tones. I also talked a bit about my weekend, Ramadan timing (I only had about an hour before breaking fast), and why this was a quick livestream update rather than a full long session. After the stems, I moved to the foreground carpet with HC Cuba, which is currently my favorite carpeting plant because it grows much faster than Monte Carlo in my experience. I used two tweezers while planting because the front soil layer isn’t as deep, and I don’t want the plants to float up when I fill the tank. The main feature is my DIY “prototype” Supertree—made by bending broomsticks and gluing them onto a trunk—placed right in the center to match my reference photo. I planned to wrap or glue moss and add Bucephalandra needle leaf around the base, but I ran out of gel glue, so I paused the build and will continue once I restock.
