In this live stream (5:30pm Singapore time), I unbox and start a super simple nano aquascape using a UNS rimless nano tank that I won from a local Instagram giveaway. I show what’s unique about the UNS build—optic white glass with those 45° cut edges—and why I’m really lucky to have it because these tanks aren’t cheap. For hardscape, I keep it easy with just three pieces of Angel Rock (smooth corners, concrete-like texture), and I talk through my process of trying different rock placements until the layout feels right. Plant-wise, I go with a clean, beginner-friendly mix: dwarf hairgrass for the foreground, Rotala Blood Red (my favorite) plus Rotala H’ra for the background, and a fun experiment—HC Cuba glued onto the rock, inspired by an aquascaper from Portugal (Jo). I also share my “real aquascaping” mindset (no SpongeBob ornaments for me), plus practical filming tips using just a phone + tripod (1080p, 60fps), and how I apply a frosted background to keep the scape looking clean and focused. The key takeaway: keep it simple, be patient with planting, slope your soil to the back, and expect plenty of “take two, take three” moments until you’re happy.
