About This Video

In this video I’m breaking down my nighttime skincare routine that’s specifically aimed at fading hyperpigmentation left behind from acne, and I’m also showing you the exact order I layer everything. I genuinely think skincare order is one of the most important things in your skin clearing journey—because even great products can underperform if you’re applying them in a way that doesn’t make sense. So I keep it simple, intentional, and acne-prone friendly. When I’m wearing makeup, I start by removing it with an oat balm cleanser because it’s super soothing and calming, and it breaks makeup down without being harsh (I’m trying to be gentle, always). Then I go in with a salicylic acid cleanser for at least 30 seconds to help unclog pores, prevent breakouts, and calm inflammation—especially around that pre-period breakout window. After cleansing, I pat dry with a paper towel (I’m not using a bathroom towel full of bacteria, sorry), then I use micellar cleansing water to make sure there’s literally no dirt left behind. From there, I moisturize my lips, go in with a 2% BHA liquid exfoliant (lightly), apply my dark spot correcting serum for brightness, seal it in with my thick Simple moisturizer, and I remind you that hyperpigmentation and SPF go hand in hand—your scars will keep getting darker without daily sunscreen.
