About This Video

In this video I get straight into the real things I wish I knew before getting my lips neutralized/tattooed, because I genuinely don’t want you making the same mistakes I did. I’m doing my makeup while I talk you through the healing process (yes, it can be long honey), what’s actually normal right after the procedure (swelling, scabbing, peeling, even darkening), and why you need to clear your diary for at least 1–2 weeks. I also share my own experience of thinking I could just “go out the same day” (I did… but please don’t be like me). I break down why multiple sessions might be necessary—especially if you’re darker-skinned like me and you need neutralization first before you can even think about lip blushing/lip tattoo. I also explain how the colour intensity changes over time (mine started fading by year three), why results can look uneven (top lip vs bottom lip, patches, and natural lip dimension), and why aftercare still matters even after you’ve healed. Vitamin E oil helped me keep my lips moisturised, but I’m also calling myself out because I preach SPF and still didn’t have an SPF lip product—so please learn from me. I finish with the biggest one: consultation and research are key. You need a skilled technician with real experience, because bad work can leave you with more hyperpigmentation and disappointment than you started with.
