About This Video

All right, y’all—this video is my first impressions + one-month testing on the Altas Strength AL-3075 light commercial functional trainer. If you’re always hunting for a space-saving cable machine (same), this thing is compact: about 84" tall and under 50" in footprint, which is huge if you’re in a garage, basement, or even an apartment setup. It’s got dual 200 lb stacks (2:1 on single side), and you can converge them for a 1:1 setup when you want the full stack for stuff like rows and lat pulldowns. What really stands out to me are the articulating arms. I don’t care if people call them a fad—I freaking love them because they move with you and let you hit better angles instead of being locked into some weird fixed path. Attachment-wise, Altas went crazy: multi-grip pull-up bar, dip handles, straight bar, curl bar, rope, row setup, leg holder, and even a back roller thing. My favorite piece is that press/fly pad attachment—back support is awesome, and it gives me a ridiculous stretch on flies. I also talk about what bothered me (the unit tipping during pulldowns… which ended up being my unlevel garage floor), how smooth the trolleys feel (decent, but silicone spray helps a lot), cable thickness concerns long-term, and why the ~$2,500 price is something I’m still trying to gauge against the market.
