I used to think fiction books were just as valuable as nonfiction—until I realized they weren’t helping me grow. In this video, I break down why I made the switch to only reading nonfiction and why you might want to consider doing the same. Nonfiction books provide real-world value, helping you develop skills, gain knowledge, and improve your mindset. While fiction can be entertaining, it often acts as an escape rather than a tool for growth. Instead of losing myself in imaginary worlds, I now focus on books that actually change my thinking, habits, and life. In this video, I’ll cover: ✔️ Why nonfiction is the best way to learn and grow ✔️ How fiction can be a distraction from reality ✔️ The biggest benefits of switching to nonfiction ✔️ Why successful people prioritize nonfiction reading Do you agree or disagree? About This Video

A couple of years ago I made a decision to stop reading fiction and concentrate on nonfiction, and it genuinely transformed my personal life. In this video I explain why—based on my own experience—not because fiction is “bad,” but because it wasn’t moving me from point A to point B. Fiction had me in dreamland, like watching a Netflix series: entertaining, emotional, immersive… but not valuable for the goals I was trying to hit. I’m not into mystical creatures or romance plots, and I realized I didn’t want my brain consuming stories that weren’t helping me build the real life I want. Nonfiction (especially self-development) gave me tools I could actually apply. The first big one for me was The 4-Hour Work Week—it pushed me to exercise, value my time, and focus on what matters for my end goal. I also talk about productivity: I don’t blindly follow “wake up at 5AM” culture (I even say I don’t like The 5 AM Club), but reading around the topic helped me understand my own energy, sleep, and when I’m actually productive. My biggest takeaway is action: nonfiction challenges me, builds discipline, and helps me negotiate, think, and operate better in real life.
