In this video I review What’s Your Dream? by Simon Squibb (full title: “Find your passion, love your work, build a richer life”)—and I’m doing it in a way where I separate the author from the book. I found Simon through TikTok, where he’s out in the street asking people “what’s your dream?” and you’d be shocked how many people freeze up or run away like they’re in trouble. That curiosity is what made me pick up the book, and I go through the big ideas that are meant to help you stop giving up on your goals and actually build a life with purpose. A huge chunk of the book is about “deprogramming” the myths that kill dreams: thinking money will make you happy, believing failure is a disaster, avoiding hard things, and confusing working hard with getting “lucky.” I talk about why I agree money doesn’t buy happiness (it buys comfort), and why purpose is the missing piece. I also share the parts I highlighted most—like questioning everything (including the book), using failure as experience, and the practical business section on “starting poor,” delegating, and understanding that you’re not just selling a product—you’re selling your story too. And yes, I’ll be honest: chapter one felt heavy and mixed up for me, but later chapters (especially the business/practical ones) were my favorite.
