About This Video

I genuinely believed (just like you) that every beauty and lifestyle trend starts on TikTok, Instagram, or from influencers online. Then I landed on one of the oldest beauty books I’ve ever seen: a 1975 book that runs January to December and tells you what to do each month to build confidence, beauty, and lifestyle habits. In this video, I introduce the book, share what surprised me, and explain how I’m turning it into a real series where we actually test the advice in real life. Before we even get into January, the book starts with goal-setting—yes, including beauty goals that most of us ignore. I talk about writing down what you want to change or improve (hair, skin, posture, weight, nails, “disturbing areas” that need exercise), and tracking things like weight fluctuations if that works for you (I also say why I personally don’t keep a scale in my house). Then I walk you through January’s checklist: morning journaling, daily stretching, warm-water face cleansing, basic makeup/hair maintenance, evening wind-down exercises, moisturizing, weekly hair conditioning, masks, posture work, and even a monthly digestive “rest”/fasting idea. My big takeaway: the outside matters as much as the inside. If you’re doing inner work, I want it to reflect outward too—and I’m testing if advice from 1975 can still make an impact in 2026.
