About This Video

Well, hello my fellow adventurers—today I’m sharing my Bible study plan for 2026 and the simple, cozy tools I’m actually using to keep it organized. I’m still using my Bible carrying case (yes, the Avon one I’ve had for literally decades), and I’m keeping my old one-year Orthodox Study Bible reading plan tucked inside because it’s just so pretty and colorful. But my main rhythm now is following the daily lectionary readings, which have been established since the apostles, and I check those on our church website and our printed church calendar. I also show you the Bible cover I made myself—no cardboard, just fabric and glue—and how I clip on bookmarks, sticky notes, and little crosses to keep everything functional. For journaling, I’m reworking my undated Dollar Tree planner that I started last year. Since life got heavy and I had to pause (flooding, grief, and shutting everything down for a while), I’m not wasting those blank months—I’m relabeling and starting it again with January 2025, then I’ll grab another lightweight one for the next half-year. My goal is to write what I learned from the day’s readings, theology class, or Lent readings, and then “flood it with life and color.” Finally, I’m setting aside a beautiful scripture notebook to become my theology-class notes book—kind of like a reference journal I can flip through later—because for me, seeing, hearing, and writing it down is what makes it stick.
