In this video I’m in my art journal making the cutest little “butterfly girls,” and I’m using art foamie heads to get that sweet doll-like face shape without having to draw everything from scratch. I walk you through how I put the pages together, how I decide on colors and details, and how I build the character so she feels whimsical and happy—like a little bright spot you can flip back to when you need it. While I craft, I also chat with you like I always do, because creating is a big part of how I cope with chronic illness and daily pain. Art journaling is one of those gentle, low-pressure crafts that I can do even when my body is not cooperating, and I love that it lets me make something pretty without needing perfection.
