In this video I’m introducing you to my new little betta girl gang—Ruby, Misty, Bluebell, Iris, and Sapphire—and bringing you along while they acclimate into their new tank. I’ve wanted a betta sorority for the longest time because bettas have been my passion since 2014. I love how gorgeous they are, but even more than that, I love their personalities because they’re so interactive and each one has their own vibe. I also share a bit of story time about why I hesitated to get bettas again. I kept bettas for years (2019–2024 was my longest stretch), but I’ve also dealt with a lot of loss, including fish passing from unknown causes—even when parameters look “perfect.” That’s why I’m so big on education and why I’ve talked about illnesses like dropsy before, because it’s one of the top killers and it honestly just sucks. Even with all that, I’m prepared this time, and I’m committed to giving these girls the best life they deserve as they settle in and (hopefully) thrive together.
