About This Video

This weekly Nairobi vlog is a real one because I’m sharing a major life update: I no longer have my day job. It came to an end abruptly, and even though losing that regular income is a big shift, I’m not as anxious as I thought I’d be. I’m giving you context (without getting into details), how I’ve been processing it, and why my routine might look different going forward. I’m choosing to trust that things will work out, even as I tighten my finances and take things step by step. I also take you with me to Kamukunji (second floor, shop number 8) for a proper beddings plug—duvets, binded options that don’t slide, towels in all sizes and colors, fleece/velvet throw blankets, and mattress protectors with prices. Since my bedroom makeover budget had to change, I’m showing what I can as I go. Then we get into soft-life moments like grounding at Garden City (touching grass and sand), plus a little creator-life upgrade with a portable LED light and accessories. To wrap it up, I cook my own version of tumbukiza—big beef chunks, potatoes, spinach, and my twists like corn and boiled eggs—because if you know me, I can’t follow a recipe to the letter.
