About This Video

Hey loves, welcome to another Nairobi living weekly vlog — the kind of slow days in my life that I’ve been craving. Nairobi has been hot (we’ve complained every single day, yes), and in this vlog I’m out and about doing normal life things: I meet up with an Instagram follower to teach her how to edit, and I’m also trying to sort out my bedroom because that door/window situation has been stressing me. I had this small kitchen curtain covering the door and it was doing absolutely nothing — light was still waking me up, and when I’m shooting I have to make sure light isn’t behind me. I ended up thrifting curtains in my area (camera/grade one, please) and I found these heavy, almost-blackout pink ones — and I was lucky to get a double set. Of course, Kenyan tailor drama happened because “it will be ready” sometimes means… it won’t. But I finally got them shortened and I’m excited because they’re going to change the whole vibe, especially since I want my bed to be my beauty-content background for Instagram. I also take you with me through a proper soft week: I postpone maintenance, clean my house top to bottom, handle Taraji’s school payments (having a child is expensive), go for a breakfast date with Kiki, and end with a little therapeutic moment — coloring and a face mask. My biggest takeaway? Try new hobbies. You don’t need to be good at them for them to give you joy and quiet your mind.
