About This Video

Hey loves, welcome to this weekly Nairobi vlog. This week was one of those “tell a friend to tell a friend” weeks because I was outside, but also I was very much in my house trying to get my life together. I started with an impromptu picnic-style launch for a Kenyan brand (I only knew about the body butters and I was excited because body butters just melt into your skin, especially as an African woman). The dress code was white and yellow with a touch of African, and I had to improvise last minute—hat, a little fabric wrap moment, and my picnic basket as my “bag.” It wasn’t perfect, but it was giving picnic and it was giving effort, period. Then I got into deep cleaning and kitchen re-organization because that was my real priority. I showed you the cleaning supplies I use (and the ones I got from an event), talked about how expensive cleaning supplies can be, and why I feel like I have storage but somehow still don’t have storage. I rearranged my cabinets, moved spices and cups around, and started thinking about adding shelves later. Nairobi power outages tried to fight me the whole time—cooking and getting ready in the dark is not for the weak. And the big highlight: Canon called. I attended Canon’s first creator event in Kenya, with QR-code tickets and organized transport from CBD. I also shared my honest creator-life thoughts on brand deals—why I’m not here to be judged only by sales, and how I see myself as a walking billboard that drives visibility and word of mouth.
