Intro: 0:00 Gaming menu: 2:40 Game images: 3:42 Pros and Cons: 4:27 Final thoughts: 6:44 In 2024, I purchased a few different Retro Game sticks. I thought i'd share the pros and cons about them. They are all very similar in that they offer the following: 2 controllers (batteries may not be included) (AA or AAA) The Retro Game stick comes with a pre-installed Micro SD card A Bluetooth dongle A USB Cable The game stick menu's may vary by brand and how many games are loaded onto the stick. The storage capacity may vary as well. Some can hold up to 256 GB, while others may hold less. The Game Stick Lite menus are a list-style menu that covers numbers through letters. Some game sticks may have multiple versions of one game in various languages. Other menu options may include a scroll option to view all the installed game systems on the retro game stick. The controllers range in design from rather bulky to a more classic PS1-style controller. Connecting the device to the TV: You will need an HDMI outlet, a USB port, and (possibly a wall adapter and an outlet). This may vary by model. You connect the system to the HDMI port, then attach the USB port along assemble the Bluetooth dongle into place. If, when you turn your TV to the proper input setting and a screen doesn't display, you may need a USB wall adapter and an outlet or power strip. Game Play: Overall, the gameplay is good. Depending on your device and setup up there may be some lag. This may vary from device to device. I noticed I had lag on the cheaper model I purchased. The games run smoothly with little issue. With that being said, there still may be some issues. I had games freeze and pixelate during game play. I also had some game wording disappear behind the game scenery. So only part of the sentences could be read. A note on controller moves. Unlike the traditional/ Retro games, these controller moves may be backward. So if your used to having a character jump using A, you may have to use B or X, or Y. It may vary by game. This may also vary by controller style.
