I thought I'd expand on that topic some more. I know many people are being contacted via social media to become brand ambassadors or affiliates for various brands. Ambassador requests: Ambassador requests may vary. They may be an email or a direct message. Many are from someone claiming to be a part of the website or program. That being said you should do your research before accepting any terms. Think of your ability to promote the brand or products. As well as how much it may cost you. Many brands will contact you asking if you'd like a free product or to become an ambassador. Some may offer a discounted prices offer or a discount code to share with followers. That's great but if it's items you may not attract your friends or family is it worth it to you? Also, how much of an affiliate payment will you be given. Also, do your own research online about the brands and be clear of the terms before agreeing to anything. Other social media marketing requests These can be brands that email or direct message you. Some may try to flatter you by asking you to be a brand model or ask to use your photos. Here's what gets me about these requests if a brand doesn't specify the photo they want to use don't fall for it. I have a great example of an email I was sent recently. The Instagram user doesn't even have a website and they tried to flatter me asking about image usage. Final thoughts Always do as much research as possible if you are contacted for any type of promotion even a product review. You should ask as many questions as you need to before agreeing to any terms.
