About This Video

I took myself on the slow day I really needed and headed into Greenwich for a little solo date. I woke up not feeling 100% and, honestly, it would’ve been so easy to stay in bed—but the sun was out (in February as well!), so I thought: get out, get some fresh air, get some sun on your back, some vit D, and see how I get on. First stop was Waterstones in Greenwich, which I didn’t even realise was there. From the outside it feels small, but once you start turning corners and going up floors, there’s loads—cookery, crime, fiction, travel, kids’ books, and even a café tucked up on the top floor. I had the nicest, calmest wander and it reminded me how relaxing bookshops are when you just slow down. I was looking at cookery books (lots of Mary Berry—love her), but I didn’t want to accidentally buy a revised version of something I already own. Then I found a little puzzle section and I grabbed a Bridgerton puzzle with a quickness—only two left! After that, I went to the Riverside Café (they still let me in even though I was late), had my tea, and then sat by the river people-watching as the sun went down. Standing there looking at the London lights honestly gave me mini New York vibes, and it reminded me to stop rushing through life and actually take in the beautiful spots we’ve got right on our doorstep.
