About This Video

In this build I take you along for the whole journey of putting together what I’d call the ultimate open-source CoreXY printer: a Voron 2.4 350mm. I’m using a Formbot kit, and instead of just speed-running the steps, I try to show what it actually feels like to build one of these—mechanicals first, then the long haul of wiring, first power-on, software setup, and the inevitable “why is it doing that?” moment when something doesn’t behave. I walk through the mechanical build, talk about the R1 vs R2 questions people always ask with the 2.4, and then get into the part that makes or breaks these projects: electronics wiring and configuration. After the first switch-on I hit a few early problems (because of course I did), work through them, and then finish the build up so it’s ready for the next phase. If you’re thinking about building a Voron yourself, the big takeaway is this: it’s absolutely doable, but you need patience, good cable management, and you’ve got to be ready to troubleshoot like it’s part of the build—because it is.
