About This Video

I bought the newest viral gourmand perfumes so you don’t have to, and in this video I rank all five based on how they actually smell on skin, how they wear throughout the day, and whether they’re worth your money. I’m talking Buttercream Haze by The 7 Virtues, Ellis Brooklyn Queen’s Caramel, Rare by Rare Beauty, Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit, and Skylar Double Dates—plus the real tea on which ones are giving “delicious edible gourmand” and which ones are just marketing. My biggest takeaway: a lot of these launches are either not matching the notes/description, or they’re straight-up giving dupe energy. Buttercream Haze ended up last for me because I get a musty, powdery, “mature/old” vibe that totally kills the buttercream fantasy. Queen’s Caramel is pretty, but it dries down like Bianca Latte (and I’m kind of tired of Bianca Latte dupes). Rare is also crowd-pleasing, but on my skin it’s basically Burberry Goddess—just with worse longevity. On the flip side, Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit is that light, fresh, spicy ginger cookie moment I crave around the holidays, even if the longevity isn’t amazing. And my #1 is Skylar Double Dates: sticky dates, brown sugar, toffee, and somehow beast-mode on me—love at first sniff.
