Day 8 of our January 2026 Walt Disney World trip starts exactly how we like it—early doors at 6:20am for coffee and bagels. We head back to Dutch Bros (still obsessed) and grab warm Jeff’s Bagels (Rich goes plain, I go sesame… because we know what we like). Then it’s a super foggy Skyliner ride from Caribbean Beach to Disney’s Hollywood Studios—complete with our little travel buddy, “Hermione the Hair Scrunchie,” and that spooky Tower of Terror vibe in the mist. We don’t really have a rigid plan today, but we do have Lightning Lanes later (Tower of Terror, Slinky Dog Dash, and Toy Story Mania), so we make the most of early entry. We rope drop Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster (no pre-show now, and it’s closing soon for the Muppets rebrand—so it felt like a must-do “collector” ride), then jump into Toy Story Land for Slinky (25 minutes standby before Lightning Lanes kick in) and a proper head-to-head on Toy Story Mania. After a Jack-Jack Num Num Cookie + Starbucks break (ultimate combo), we head to Disney Springs for lunch at Summer House on the Lake—spinach dip, a crispy chicken sandwich, a house salad, and of course cookies (the “Pinky” is basically like eating a pink donut as a cookie). We finish with a chill pool break, then head back to Hollywood Studios for an evening Lightning Lane session—Tower of Terror screams included.
