In this video I’m talking about those diecast restoration channels and how they REALLY do it. You know the ones: they “mysteriously find” a wrecked 1/18 car in the dirt, it’s totally destroyed, and somehow it turns into a showroom piece in one video. I’m not here to hate on anyone—I still love watching that stuff—but I wanted to point out the little clues that make you go, “Okay… come on.” I share a real example from last summer: a guy from Europe reached out to me looking for parts for his “backyard found” Maisto Lamborghini Huracan project. That pretty much tells you what’s going on behind the scenes—parts are getting sourced, swapped, and planned way more than the videos make it look. And if you stick around to the end, I talk about the “miraculous” interior saves too, because that’s usually where the magic trick is the most obvious. My takeaway is simple: enjoy the content, but don’t let it fool you—real 1/18 restoration takes time, parts, and a lot of patience.
