In this video I’m doing a little damage control on my 1/18 showroom diorama—because while I was busy filming my entire 1/18 scale car collection over the last couple of weeks, a few of my figurines took a dive from the second floor and literally broke on the floor. That’s the kind of “real life” stuff that happens when you’re constantly moving cars, filming angles, and living in the diorama. So today I’m building a proper 1/18 scale guardrail to stop those accidents from happening again. While I’m building, I also take the time to showcase part of my American Diorama figure collection. I go through some of my favorites, including my Christmas Ladies and a few Akira Nakai figures, and I talk about how I like to use them to bring the showroom to life and make the scenes feel less “static.” The big takeaway here is simple: if you’re building multi-level dioramas, add safety details like rails early—because one fall is all it takes to ruin a good figure. And yeah… I still need a sponsor for my glue and wood filler.
