About This Video
It’s been a minute since I’ve sat down to film a proper video, so I’m really excited to share this vinyl update haul with you—records I picked up over the past month or two, including finds from my trip to Chicago. This one leans heavily into classic rock, early psychedelic rock, and the sunshine pop stuff I’ve been so into lately. I kick things off with a newer discovery, The Mellons’ debut “Introducing The Mellons” on a super pretty yellow vinyl, and then I show a Target-exclusive color pressing of Grateful Dead’s “American Beauty” (please don’t yell at me for that), which I honestly think is a great starting point if you’ve never listened to them before.
I also share a couple Nuggets compilations from Rhino Records that I found at Sugar Records in Chicago—one focused on the first psychedelic era, and another that’s more sunshine pop with really fun packaging on an opaque orange swirl. Beatles-wise, I picked up the “Yellow Submarine Songtrack” because I thought I was getting a yellow pressing… and yeah, I played myself because it’s black vinyl. I round everything out with a Monkees picture disc (mostly for the vibe and photos) and a big one I’ve wanted forever: Bob Dylan’s “Blonde on Blonde,” which is probably my favorite Dylan album and a super satisfying add to my collection.
