In this video I walk you through VIPKID’s updated hiring process (as of December 2019) so you know exactly what to expect from start to finish. I break down the application screening and basic info portion, then the interview/demo options—because this is where most people get confused. VIPKID simplified things, including the recorded self-intro + demo option, and yes, your actual teaching time is now only five minutes. I also explain the live interview/demo route and what “coaching days” are if you want extra support. After that, I take you inside the Certification Center so you understand how teaching prep works and what you’ll be doing for mock classes and certifications (Level 2/3 and Level 4/5). I also cover what happens at the end of the process: contract, documents, TESOL, and the background check/profile approval steps. Along the way I answer the big questions I get all the time—like whether you must be a native speaker, what to do if you fail because of a mistake, how to know what slides to teach, and what happens if you don’t pass a mock. My goal is to help you feel calm, prepared, and confident on camera throughout the whole process.
