In this video I take a look at the Boulies Aura, a £270 office chair that’s trying to blend a clean, modern design with “proper” ergonomics. I’ll be upfront: I’m not a chair expert, but I do spend a ridiculous amount of time sat at a desk, and I’ve got some very specific preferences—especially when I’m leaning forward for more competitive gaming. So I reviewed the Aura from that real-world perspective: size/fit, how easy it is to build, and whether all those adjustments actually translate into day-to-day comfort. For my 1.75m, under-70kg frame, the Aura is borderline too big, mainly because the seat still brushes behind my knees even at its shortest depth. That said, the cushioning and fabric are genuinely comfortable for long sessions, and the adjustment range is extensive: seat height, depth, backrest height, lumbar, headrest, and multi-direction armrests. I also like that the recline can lock in multiple positions (not just upright), though there’s no tension adjustment. My main criticisms are build-quality “feel” and noise—some adjustments feel a bit hollow or finicky, particularly the headrest and backrest height mechanism. Heat build-up could be an issue in a hotter room, and the black fabric is basically a pet-hair magnet. Still, comfort-wise it does more right than wrong, and it’s one of my favourite seats in the house—so I’ll likely keep using it after the review.
