Hey guys, it’s Kiki—today I did a Japanese vs Western summer tops try-on, and I picked 5 “Japanese style” tops and 5 “Western style” tops to compare the vibe, the fit, and how easy they are to style. For the Japanese side, I started with this super cute brown Stylenanda top that feels so “Japan limited” to me—flowery texture, a little see-through, super short, and you can wear it off-shoulder or half off-shoulder. I also showed a light pink dog print top (dog prints just make me so happy), my everyday Brandy Melville black top that I literally wear to work/school, a comfy brown cotton top with a clever design that helps me feel less insecure about that “normal” little tummy area, and a light blue crop top that’s adorable but… beauty is pain because it can feel tight on my chest if I’m out all day. Then I switched my hairstyle and jewelry to match the Western vibe—hoops and a thick, heavy gold heart necklace for that bougie feeling. The Western tops got more bold and sexy: a tight Zara pick, a sky/ocean blue thrifted top that made me want to cry because it’s so pretty, a bright red netting top that turns heads in Japan, a long-sleeve dark blue/greenish tone top that shows my body line (but I was literally sweating), and my favorite piece of the whole video: a denim dragon top from a Chinese designer brand that’s vintage, short, and insanely statement.
