I finally went to Los Angeles for the first time, and this vlog is basically my “Japan-to-LA culture shock” diary—plus a lot of cute outfits and snacks. I landed and immediately got hit with jet lag (I woke up at 3 a.m.), but I still pushed myself to do a hiking morning even though I literally never hike, not even in Japan. We also tried In-N-Out, and I have to be honest: I think it’s so much better than Shake Shack (I never liked Shake Shack, even though people love it in Japan). We did Costco grocery shopping too because we’re staying for a bit, so I wanted the “real life” LA rhythm, not just tourist spots. Later, we drove around the Malibu area and visited a horse farm, and it genuinely felt like a drama or movie—so many horses, super calm, and I was obsessed with one with curly hair and blue eyes. Another day, I did a downtown shopping day (yes, I had to go to Brandy Melville because it’s connected to my first unboxing video), grabbed boba, and walked around Santa Monica/Third Street Promenade with Chinese New Year decorations everywhere. Also: LA was way colder than I expected, everything closes early, and the portions are huge—so “expensive” feels different when you can split one meal with friends.
