I’m not even gonna lie, I started off playing like trash: missed parries, misinputs, and I’m sitting there like “yo, my thumbs don’t work.” But that’s also the point—high level fights punish every little lapse, so I had to lock in and start actually thinking about what my opponent wants. A big theme here is recognizing patterns fast. If I see you dodge attacking my unblockable, I’m letting it rip or I’m feinting and going into full guard to catch you trying to be early. I’m also watching for stance/full guard habits and calling out the counter (like immediate GB when I see you sit in it). Later on, the matches get sweaty—especially when I start autopiloting and forget key resources (like souls) that completely change the fight. The takeaway is simple: establish you can parry lights, force hesitation, then run your mix with GBs, unblockables, and full guard cancels until they crack.
