About This Video

What’s good YouTube—this is episode 3 of me making a song from scratch in Adobe Audition, and we’re on some rap / hiphop / soul vibes today. I’m building out the track “G6” from the ground up: laying ideas, testing different deliveries, and doing a lot of quick punch-ins until the hook feels right. You’ll hear me run the hook a bunch of times because I’m chasing that more “nonchalant” chill delivery, and I’m not afraid to say when something’s not hitting yet. That’s the real part of recording—repeat it, tweak it, and keep it moving. After I lock the first verse, I start arranging the session and talk through a very real Adobe Audition workflow issue: there’s no grid, so you’ve gotta get hands-on with copying and pasting the beat and chorus to build structure. I also cut lines I don’t like (because forcing it never helps), then paste the chorus back in to get a clean verse → hook layout. I end the session early because it’s almost 3 AM and I’ve gotta catch a train to Toronto, so the second verse is coming in episode 4. If you like the longer “full session” style videos, let me know—because punching for 30 minutes straight is definitely a vibe… but only if y’all actually want it.
