What's good? In this video I’m showing you how I use autotune in Adobe Audition, and why I honestly think Audition’s stock autotune is the best (and it’s basically free because it’s already in there). I’ve owned other autotune plugins too, like Waves, and I’ve tried a bunch of options over time, but I keep coming back to Adobe’s Automatic Pitch Correction because it makes me sound more like a singer. A lot of other autotunes either still make it obvious I can’t sing, or they push me into that robot sound. I walk you through exactly where to find it (Effects → Time and Pitch → Automatic Pitch Correction) and how to set it up the right way. The key is matching the key and scale to your beat—your song isn’t always gonna be something random like “D minor,” so you gotta figure out the beat’s key first. Then I give you my go-to settings: for a natural sound, I keep attack around 2 and sensitivity around 110–120. If you want that heavy “T-Pain” style effect, crank attack to 10 and sensitivity to 200. And one more thing: autotune isn’t gonna save you. You still gotta try your best when you sing, because if you’re too far off, it’ll do something weird and glitchy. Get the right key, pick the right scale, and stay in the range of the notes as much as you can.
