Notifications galore? Just because a tool can notify you, doesn’t mean it has to! Let’s review and adjust our settings as part of the Spring Refresh, Reset, & Reflect series.
About This Video
Notifications galore? In this video, I walk through a simple mindset shift: just because a tool can notify you, doesn’t mean it has to. As part of my Spring Refresh, Reset, & Reflect series, I focus on helping educators take back control of their attention—because when every app, platform, and inbox is allowed to “ping” us all day, it’s not just annoying; it’s exhausting. If we want to do our best thinking for students, we have to protect our time and mental space.
I share how I approach reviewing notification settings and making intentional choices about what deserves an alert and what can wait. The goal isn’t to turn everything off and miss important communication—it’s to reset your defaults so your tools work for you, not the other way around. My big takeaway: a quick notification reset can reduce stress, improve focus, and make your daily workflow feel lighter. This is practical PD you can do in one sitting, and it pays you back every single day after.
