After two years of saving, I finally did the thing and renovated my kitchen—and this video is the full 2-week (ish) kitchen makeover all in one vlog. I start by clearing everything out (yes, it looked SO naked) and walking you through what’s staying the same (fridge + range stayed put) vs. what I was dying to change. The layout isn’t totally changing, but I’m adding a pantry cabinet, switching a bunch of the base cabinets to drawers, getting rid of the soffits, and going from a double sink (which I hated) to one sink. You’ll see the day-by-day progress: demo, cabinets going all the way to the ceiling (hello extra storage), black hardware to match the rest of my house, and the over-the-range microwave that instantly gave me more countertop space. We do gray subway tile with white grout (simple, clean, and a break from all the white), and the countertops go in earlier than expected—super sparkly with a little gray/blue vibe. I wrap it up with the final reveal and the very beginning of organizing (utensil drawer first, obviously), plus my first dinner in the new kitchen.
