About This Video

In this video I’m trying the viral claw clip hairstyle that’s been trending everywhere—if you know, you know. Most of the girlies I’ve seen do it use clip-ins or weave, but I wanted to see how it would look on my own hair with no hair added. At the time of recording my hair was tailbone length and already straightened (it had been straight for about 3 weeks and change), so I went in with that sleek, long-hair moment and tested it step-by-step. I start by detangling because my hair tangles super easily, then I clean up my natural middle part (I’ve been parting it down the middle for a year, so it basically parts itself now). I section the front into two pieces like I’ve been seeing online, clip each side out of the way, then separate the back like I’m doing a half-up half-down. After twisting the top and tying it at the back (I left a little piece of hair to connect the sections so it actually stays), I was honestly shocked—this came out so cute. Next time I do it, I’m definitely using more hairspray and slicking it back even more, but overall it’s a 10/10 and it looks so nice on me.
