It was literally 2:24 in the morning when I decided to try the Aztec Indian Healing Clay mask on my curly hair and see if it actually works. For the last 2–3 weeks my hair had been super dry with a lot of product build up because I was basically living in a high bun or a low ponytail and not really taking care of my curls. I know how my curl pattern normally looks, so when it starts looking different, I’m like okay… we need a reset. In this video, I mix the Aztec clay with Bragg apple cider vinegar (yes, it sizzles—that’s normal) and I’m just eyeballing the amounts until I get the consistency I want. I wet my hair with warm water, detangle, section, and apply the mask from my roots down. It does get messy, and once it dries it gets really stiff, so I used really hot water and stayed under the water for a good 10–15 minutes to fully rinse it out. The results surprised me—in the best way. My hair felt soft and super clean, my scalp felt cleansed, and the dryness/dandruff I had going on was gone. I’d honestly recommend this to anyone who feels like their hair just isn’t responding to the usual treatments and needs a real reboot.
