In this video I’m showing my long, natural curly girlies how to actually use a claw clip—because I kept seeing tutorials on straight or wavy hair and I was like… okay but what about us? Claw clip hairstyles got super popular during quarantine (and they’re still everywhere on Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest), and I love them because they’re cute, simple, and effortless—especially if you’re a lazy natural like me. Fun fact: I’ve been using claw clips since I was like 9 or 10 because my aunt used to wear them, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I go through four beginner-friendly claw clip looks and show you my little technique for making it work when you have a lot of hair. First I do my go-to low twist-and-clip style where I pull everything back, twist, fold it up into a bun moment, and clip it while leaving my curls out. Then I show a more secure version (and tell you when I’ll add water + brush + a scrunchie if it’s slipping). After that, I do two half-up half-down options—one more loose for errands, and my favorite one where I twist upward so the curls face up for extra volume. I wear that last one for date nights when I want to feel extra cute.
