In this video I show you how I installed the Shower Shroom hair catcher (the “as seen on TV” drain protector) in my shower. This is one of those simple home how-to things I wish I would’ve done sooner, because my shower got clogged and I ended up paying a guy $180… and all he did was pop the drain cover off and pour in that acid/Drano-type stuff. Absolutely insane. I don’t want that to happen to you. I walk you through the basic steps: grab a flathead screwdriver, remove your current drain cover, and place the Shower Shroom right into the drain opening. That’s literally it—once it’s in, it sits flush against the shower floor just like my original cover did. The whole point is that hair should wrap around the middle piece so you can pull it out and clean it instead of letting it clog your pipes. I’ll report back after I’ve used it more, but installation was super easy and it’s a simple way to help save money (and a headache).
