In this video I show you exactly how I change out the water filter in my Whirlpool refrigerator (mine is the WRMF3636RV00). I start by clearing everything out so you can actually see what you’re doing, then I point out the little button at the top that you push to open the filter door. Inside, the filter is locked in place, so I walk you through loosening it the right way—remember, righty tighty, lefty loosey—turn it left, and pull the old filter straight out. I also show what the new filter looks like, including the cap on the bottom that you need to remove before installing. Then I line up the holes, push the filter back in, and twist it until you hear that click so you know it’s locked. After that, I go over to the front panel, hit Options, and do the Filter Reset so the fridge knows it’s been replaced. Last step (and don’t skip it): I flush about a gallon of water through the dispenser to break the new filter in—air bubbles are totally normal while you’re doing that.
