About This Video

In this video I’m using my Ninja Foodi Possible Cooker Pro to make chicken legs, and I’m specifically showing you how to use the Sear/Sauté function the right way. I had a lot of trouble the last time I tried it, and my mistake was adding the food too soon. This time I walk you through turning the unit on, dialing over to Sear/Sauté, hitting Start, and then actually waiting for it to fully preheat until it beeps and says “add food.” Once it’s ready, I pop the lid off, add just a tiny dribble of oil (it’s nonstick, you really don’t need much), and drop in the chicken legs. I rotate them so they sear on both sides, and I let them go for about 8 minutes—plus you’ll see the timer start counting once the cooker senses the weight of the food. After searing, I switch over to Bake and cook them low and slow at 350°F for about 20 minutes for six legs. I also point out how it automatically flips to Keep Warm when it’s done, and nothing sticks to the bottom. And seriously… the chicken comes out so tender the meat is basically falling off the bone.
