In this video I’m unboxing and building a kids wooden sandbox that comes with a cover and an adjustable shade canopy. I show what comes in the box, walk through parts of the assembly, and I also measure everything so you know what kind of space it really takes up. Across the top it’s about 48 inches, and from the ground to the top of the canopy it’s also about 48 inches. The sandbox itself is almost a square at about 47 x 46 inches, and the sand area is around 7.7 inches tall—honestly a really nice depth for holding a good amount of sand. What I really love about this design is how practical it is for real life. The bench seats are convertible, so they fold flat to cover the sandbox when you’re not using it, which helps with weather, debris, and animals. The canopy is adjustable in both height and angle, and you can even lower it all the way down to fully cover the top. Setup took about 2 hours from start to finish for just my husband, and it took seven 50-lb bags of sand to fill it. The kids have already had so much fun with it, and I’m excited to see how much use we get out of it over time.
