In this video I review the Gamakay (Womier) K87 Botanical and yeah—this might be the most insane RGB I’ve ever seen on a keyboard. The acrylic case is made of three layers, so the lighting doesn’t just glow under the keycaps, it shines all the way around the board too. It’s a TKL layout (arrow keys + function row) and while I personally like 75% boards a bit more, TKL is still a great “do everything” size for gaming and typing. What makes the K87 a legit starter keyboard isn’t just the looks—it’s the value and features for under $100. It’s hot-swappable with 3-pin and 5-pin switches, so you can run the stock Gateron Reds or Yellows now and upgrade later when you figure out what you actually like (I’m more of a tactile guy). The PBT keycaps in this green/white Botanical theme look super clean, and I actually prefer non-shine-through caps since backlit doubleshot sets are usually thinner. I also go over the software, do a sound test, and point out the main downsides like the right-side USB-C port and the spacebar rattle—though lubing the stabilizers is a quick fix.
