I tested the KiiBoom Loop65 to see if it’s really the most premium pre-built keyboard you can get for around $160. In this video I go through the unboxing (keyboard with a dust cover, USB-C cable, keycap/switch puller, allen wrench, and manual), then I break down why this board feels way more “expensive” than the price tag. It’s a 65% layout (66 keys), comes in two colorways, and it’s seriously heavy at 1.4kg—which is a big part of why the aluminum case and the volume knob feel so premium in-hand. I also cover the features that actually matter: 2.4GHz wireless + Bluetooth 5.0, a 4,000mAh battery rated around 100 hours, gasket mount, hot-swap, and VIA/QMK support (which is basically the best keyboard software setup). Out of the box, it already sounds great with the included KiiBoom Matcha Latte linear switches—smooth and satisfying without needing mods. It’s not perfect though: the knob seems locked to media controls only, there are no height-adjustable feet, and I noticed occasional wireless lag, so I wouldn’t use it for competitive gaming. Still, for a durable, clean, minimal board that rivals customs costing way more, this one is hard to beat.
