Everybody wants a keyboard that’s thocky, but most of the time it’s either hard to achieve or it’s just expensive. In this video I review the Ajazz AK820 Pro, a pre-built 75% keyboard that I think gets you surprisingly close to that thocky sound for around $60. I go through the unboxing (it’s pretty barebones), the main features, and what you’re actually getting for the money. I talk about the little screen in the bottom right (cool and unique, but not super useful to me), plus the basics I still love seeing on budget boards: hot-swap and wireless with Bluetooth and 2.4GHz. The PBT doubleshot keycaps are genuinely high quality, and I break down the colorways and keycap profile options I noticed. I also cover the plastic case, the dongle storage, mode switches, and the USB-C placement. Then I get into the switches I received (Ajazz Flying Fish linears), the internal foam/silicone that helps cut hollow ping, and a sound test. My takeaway: it’s not the most thocky keyboard I’ve ever heard, but for $60 it’s probably the best you’re going to get out of the box—and with a little stabilizer lube, it can sound even better.
