About This Video

I’ve been using the Epomaker Shadow-S for about a month, so in this video I break down what you actually get for around $100 and whether it’s really the best TKL in that price range. I start with a quick unboxing (you get the board, manual, braided USB‑C cable, switch/keycap puller, and extra switches), then I go over the big headline features: an 85-key TKL layout with a volume knob and a 1.14" screen in the top right that shows date/time and battery on wireless. The screen is honestly one of the coolest parts, because you can customize it super easily with Epomaker’s official Custom Image Tool—no sketchy downloads. Connectivity is also solid: wired, Bluetooth 5.0, and 2.4GHz with a dongle slot on the front, plus a Mac/Windows switch. You’re getting PBT keycaps (feel great, but they’re not shine-through), decent RGB, gasket mount, five layers of foam, and hot-swap support for 3/5-pin switches. My main nitpicks are the light bar look and that the plate-mounted stabilizers are just “okay”—I’ve heard better on cheaper 75% boards like the AULA F75 and AJAZZ AK820 Pro. If you specifically want TKL, it’s a strong value, but if layout isn’t locked in, I’d still cross-shop those 75% options.
